In a display of support and recognition of the challenges its employees are facing during the current COVID-19 crisis, Indian multinational technology company Tech Mahindra has reportedly given its employees the option to choose work from home or work from the office.
According to reports, the company has also put measures in place to ensure the safety of its employees including social distancing, sanitisation and hygiene protocols. In addition to this, temperatures, blood pressure and oxygen levels of the employees will be checked daily.
While several companies have implemented the Work from Home (WFH) system for the remainder of the year, many have asked employed to return to office in a phased manner.
Tech giants Google and Facebook have allowed their employees to continue working from home until July 2021, while Twitter has permitted its employees to work from home permanently.
Tata Consultancy Services (TCS) had implemented the work from the home model since April this year and reportedly plans to have 75 per cent of its staff working from home over the next 5 years.
