Change is a word that describes a new outlook, a new perspective, and an idea to develop and move towards better solutions. As the corporate sector has evolved towards a new generation workforce, a lot has happened to create and need to change the workforce from manual to technology, from individual autonomy to team autonomy has surged.
The process of change is not easy but we need to start from self. Each step takes you to the next level. It is like transforming the self-first to transform others or an organization. Each individual is born to have experience change. Humans on a whole are meant to grow in life and that can happen only through the continuous change process. As we progress in life and rise, new formulations and inventions, ideas start to seep in. Once we start inventing generate new thoughts and ideas, we get the urge to revisit that action only to reinvent ourselves and that’s when we start the process of changing. Its important to reinvent youself which definitely leads to many opportunities to explore and keep exploring.
Let’s see the steps to get this change.
Step-1: Is to support yourself as you move along the change curve. As the process is time-consuming and requires rechanneling of your emotions. You need to put constant affirmation for self so that you are able to achieve it. You need to be firm and let not your emotions take over as change can sometimes be difficult.
Step-2: Practice until you achieve it as it has to be an ongoing process it is not just a single day task or job. It is a continuous process. It has to become your conscious lifestyle. One has to be dedicated and not complacent.
Step-3: Surround yourself with positive people who can support your change and work with you to achieve it until the old is replaced by new, be with people who don’t judge you for changing. Make it into a positive habit.
Step-4: Any change requires constant motivation and remember it is not easy to be self motivated all the time, you will have your ups and downs, but the real you must go on with self-motivation by challenging yourself again and again to achieve the change.
Step-5: Expect there will be consequences from others around you; some people will like it and some will not. It is completely ok. You cannot satisfy everyone, and at the same time you need to move on that is why it is important to have positive reinforcement and supportive people around you. It’s you that matters.
Step-6: Keep a checklist and update it all the time to benchmark yourself. This checklist will help you to move on, no matter what. All you need is to revisit it and update it.
After listing out the above steps to start the individual process of change, a similar pattern is required for your teams too, with a dash of leadership skills, Risking for change, courage, motivation, support, your vision for change & the process will start.
It is always welcoming the positive change in your life and be the new you.
